No Flashbacks, No Magic, COULSON Lives!

We’ve known that Phil Coulson would be involved with Joss Whedon’s SHIELD show for a while now, but since the quippy Agent died in The Avengers, we were a bit worried that they’d use a silly excuse to bring him back to life. “Oh… that… that was TOTALLY a Life Model Decoy

Well, we still haven’t determined what type of tomfoolery Coulson used to revive himself, but Whedon has recently confirmed that… YES! Coulson is alive and well in the show!

When asked about the specifics of Phil’s resurrection, this is what he said:

“I’ll tell you guys this, Heimlich,” Whedon joked, before effectively clamming up about the show.

“I can’t talk about it,” he admitted, but said that he did bring Coulson back from the dead for the ABC drama. “Yes. For realsies.”

Does that cheapen his death scene in The Avengers? Absolutely. But I’m more than happy to have my favorite trading card toting Agent back on the screen. Now, if only we can find a way to resurrect Wash and the rest of the deceased from Firefly. Until then, we’ll continue with our daily Sacrifices of Nolanites and Baby Ponies at the Altar of Joss.

Heyo. I'm Nick Dourian, the Editor-In-Chief around these parts. Now, I went to a few other sites, read a few awesome bios, and I really want to fabricate a badass origins story for myself, but I'm feeling particularly unimaginative today, so 'f' that jazz. I read comics, drink bourbon, and cook meats. Imagine Ron Swanson, but with a fuller beard and cuter eyes.
