Nick Fury Returning To AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. For Season Finale

For a show that revolves around S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives, we’ve seen very little of director Nick Fury in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Aside from a cameo at the end of the second episode, Fury has been doing his own thing (namely getting shot at) while Coulson and the gang have been off on their adventures. That will soon change when Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Fury in the finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

When asked by Vulture whether he’d be making another cameo appearance on the show, he said, “I did! Last week! I just shot the end-of-the-season show.” However, when they tried to get him to divulge information on his role, he stated, “You’re trying to get me fired and killed! I don’t talk about Marvel’s business. None of us do.”

SPOILERS for Captain America: The Winter Soldier follow!

It will be interesting to see how Fury’s appearance plays out on the show. With S.H.I.E.L.D.’s collapse at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Fury traded in his eyepatch for a pair of sunglasses and began his journey of taking down HYDRA sleeper cells. Since The Winter Soldier events will tie into upcoming episodes of  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it’s likely we’ll see the title characters work with Fury on one of his ops. With Guardians of the Galaxy takes place across the universe and Avengers: Age of Ultron is focusing on the superheroes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the best venue through which to explore the ramifications of HYDRA’s infiltration and Fury going underground.

Ideally he’ll  also still be wearing those sunglasses. Those things looked good!
