New Pics from “Cloud Atlas”

Say what you will about the The Wachowski Brothers, but they’re pretty damn amazing when it comes to Sci-Fi flicks. I know their last outing in Speed Racer was a bit shaky, but their adaptation of the much beloved novel Cloud Atlas looks nothing short of phenomenal.

We’ve gotten our hands on some set photos and concept art and they’re absolutely stunning. Check them out below:

Very Blade Runner-esque, no? If you didn’t already know, that futuristic city is supposed to be Seoul, South Korea in the year 2144. It’s filled with air-highways and neon striped flying cars, so it already has two things I love to see on screen.

Many thanks to our friends at Collider for the scoop. Make sure you check back here at UTF and we’ll keep you posted as the project moves forward.

Here’s the official synopsis for more:

A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation — the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.
