New Marvel TV Show Avengers Assemble To Be Like The Movie

Some sad news entered the realms of UTF recently. That news was that Marvel was cancelling their acclaimed show Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in favor of a new show called Avengers Assemble, which Jeph Loeb now describes as having the “tone and feel” of the movie. This is fairly obvious, as when they released a promo image last week (check that out below) it featured the current Avengers roster in the movieverse but with the addition of Falcon rumours started that he would be on the team in the sequel, especially because the writers of Captain America II are eager for him to feature in the sequel.

The Avengers movie has been the ambassador to the world for the Marvel Universe so we want a show that has the feel and the tone and the incredible adventures like that movie. So the next project that we’re working on — and this is down in our lab, top secret, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protecting us at all costs — is Avengers Assemble, which will be a brand new and really extraordinary looking animated series dealing with the Avengers in that same world.

We’re still very early on in the process and we don’t give away too much. It’s safe to say that we’re looking at a show that more closely echoes the tone and the feel of the movie.

Falcon is going to be the eyes of the viewer. He’s a new member of the Avengers so he’s walking through our stories wide-eyed and with wonder and amazed to be a part of it. He’s a little younger than the rest of the cast and a little greener, so he adds an interesting dimension to the team that we think will play really well with the audience.

I am very happy about this news. I was worried that because of the success for Ultimate Spider-Man they would try to replicate that into the new Avengers show, but if they’re going for something similar to the movie then I’m all for it. As details are scarce at the moment, I can’t really give my opinion on whether this except hoping that it’ll be another winner, except that’s what I was saying about Ultimate Spider-Man…..
