Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Episode 2 Already Being Hyped!?!

Unless you have been hiding under a rock polishing your Avengers toys you have heard about Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. by now.  The TV show premieres on ABC Tuesday, September 24th at 8pm EST.  If you are like me, then you were already amped up for this television nerd event.  It gets better.  In a recent interview S.H.I.E.L.D. star Elizabeth Henstridge was pumping episode 2 of the yet to even be premiered show.  The sexy starlet, who will be playing Jemma Simmons, had this to say about Joss Whedon’s new show,

“Every week there’s a new weird thing going on.  We just pinch ourselves constantly…Each script we get, we can’t believe it’s bigger than the first.  Yes, I am excited for people to see the premier next week, but then No. 2 is so huge we can’t wait for that either.”

So we have these huge expectations before we have even seen an episode.  And I do not have a problem with this at all.  I love the hype and excitement for Marvel’s foray into the weekly drama show on television.  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has a unique feel to it; both in approach and content.  It is like we will be seeing behind the scenes of the superhero world…at the normal folks that have to put up with all the mundane crap (except the mundane crap is pretty damn exciting).  The show features a great cast, if you don’t like Clark Gregg, reprising his role as the affable and funny Agent Coulson, than you are not a fanboy; an interesting premise, and a chance for all kinds of great cameos.  Can you imagine Samuel L. Jackson guest-spotting as Colonel Fury?  Or Scarlett Johansson swinging by as the Black Widow (drool)?  I think the best part of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. effort is how excited the actors and actresses are.  Elizabeth Henstridge went on to say,

“In a funny way, I’m not nervous about it. I’m just excited about ‘Agents of SHIELD.’ We’re so proud of it and we’re just excited to share it now and see what people think…We definitely feel like we’re welcoming new fans and then also kind of satisfying current fans. I think we’re just excited. We love it, and we just feel like the fans are going to love it and new people are going to love it.”

I am already arranging my nerd cave for Tuesday’s premier.  I suggest you all do the same, fanboys and girls.  This is going to be one hot show you will not want to miss.  The anticipation meter is off the charts; for episodes 1 and 2 – and the whole damn show.
