Marc Webb Eyes Kraven The Hunter For Future AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Film

It’s no secret that Spider-Man boasts one of the biggest rogues gallery in comic book history. With the Sinister Six on the way, there’s plenty of options for bad guys to join the team, but which ones? We’ve already seen four villains in the Amazing Spider-Man movies, and there’s been plenty of others hinted at. So many options!

For director Marc Webb, however, someone’s already on the list. When asked by Comicbook.com which Spider-Man villain he wanted to see that hasn’t appeared in a movie, Webb chose the leopard skin-wearing Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven. I like the idea of Kraven. The Vulture. Ock. I always thought the idea of Mysterio was interesting. Maybe Scorpion. But really, Kraven I think is kind of interesting.

While Webb may be able to insert Kraven into The Amazing Spider-Man 3, his final film for the franchise, it will be up to Sinister Six director Drew Goddard to decide who joins the diabolical team. Webb stated in another interview that he and Goddard have met to plot out the future of these villainous, with specific plans for Doctor Octopus and Vulture.

I had to talk to Drew Goddard (The Sinister Six writer/director) and make sure these things were going to be played out in the future universe. There are some very specific plans, for example, for [Doc] Ock and for Vulture. Or the man in the hat at the end of the first movie. All those things emerge with varying degrees of emphasis.

Doc Ock, Vulture and Kraven were villains hinted at recently in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Shazam promo, along with Green Goblin, Rhino and possibly Mysterio. Spider-Slayer and Black Cat have also been rumored as future villains, not to mention the possibility of Lizard or Electro returning. Like I said, there’s a lot of options.

So far, every villain has received their powers/equipment from OsCorp. Even though he’ll probably be connected to the company, Kraven will still be a refreshing change of pace. Unless they go the jungle potion route from the comics, he’ll only have his natural skills to depend on during combat. Have him be a mercenary who’s hired to kill Spider-Man. After he gets his ass handed to him, then he can receive some sort of enhancement serum from OsCorp.

Look, if Webb wants Kraven, it’s likely that he’ll be one of the villains in the third installment and possibly Sinister Six. However, if they’re going to bring him in, they’ve got to get his look right, and I’m not just talking about his goatee. I want him decked out in the animal gear. No exceptions.
