Is The New Jimmy Olsen a Lady?

If you wander over to IDMB’s official page for the new Superman reboot MAN OF STEEL you’ll see that Jimmy Olsen is nowhere to be found, but that an interesting female character listed as “Jenny Olsen” played by Rebecca Buller has taken his place. Common sense would say that the classic red haired, freckle faced Jimmy has been given the boot in favor of a modern, equality friendly version of the photographer. Hoping to confirm this story, CBR recently contacted Warner Bros., but the studio refused to comment.

Hiding something, are they?

While we could certainly argue the veracity of this claim for hours on end, I think this screencap from the newest trailer is enough proof for me. If you look closely, that’s “Jenny Olsen” running hand in hand with Perry White (played by Laurence Fishburne).  Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that a camera strap dangling on her neck?
