Five Arrow Spin-Offs I’d like to See

The CW’s Arrow was a show I originally watched with great trepidation.  While the adds didn’t look bad I watched it from a sense I SHOULD give it a try.  After three episodes I was won over and soon looked forward to each installment.  With season two having I ended The Arrow is stronger now than when it was trying to find its identity.  One element from season two that struck me as out of place though was the forced addition of Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen.  It was apparent from the beginning that this was simply so that a Flash spinoff could claim a connection to an established success.  With the trailer for the new Flash series out now, I can say it doesn’t look bad or much like Arrow at all.  Stephen Ammell’s cameo is cool enough but the tone of the Flash seems vastly different from the Arrow.  Essentially I am asking why is The Flash a spin off and not its own entity? (I know they are both DCU)  With that in mind here are five Arrow Spin offs I would rather see.  Careful some spoilers below.

 SuperMax

With Slade Wilson locked away and swearing he will return, this series would be rife for drama.  Think of it as something akin to Prison Break, except you are rooting for the guards.   You could populate the Prison with cool DCU villains and then send them out into other series, or have more Arrow foes dumped here.  Maybe even incorporate some of David Goyers’ Supermax script.

Suicide Squad

Cynthia Addai-Robinson’s Amanda Waller has been introduced and we’ve seen a bit of the Suicide Squad in action, but this is a group that can hold an entire series pretty easily.  Plus Michael Jai White is awesome, and hasn’t been given a real chance to showcase this yet.

The Black Canary

Birds of Prey

Caity Lotz’s Black Canary was pretty cool and with her leaving Sterling City at the end of Season Two this could be a great chance to develop her as a central character and add some much needed diversity to TV.

Nyssa al Ghul and the League of Assassins

Heir to the Demon

I’m not sure structurally how to pull this off, but there is serious potential in this concept.  Flashback’s with Sara Walker could be used though, similar to Oliver and the Island.

 Huntress

Arrow-Huntress-1

I am a huge fan of Huntress Year Zero and think Helena Bertinelli as the daughter of crime lords is a character with Amazing Potential that has yet to be fully realized.  While I was not thrilled with Jessica De Gouw’s portrayl of Huntress, I blame the writers for making the character a bit too criminal and unrepentant in her quest for vengeance.  With that in mind a show with her trying to redeem herself while still giving off a Punisher vibe could make great TV.

The Flash could be a cool show, it may be a great show, but as a spinoff of Arrow it’s not a great fit.
