In Peter Jackson’s latest vlog entry (which you should probably check out) we received a few snippets of The Hobbit footage from this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Besides the obvious Dwarven troops and mild mannered halflings, there was an extra bit of awesomeness in the video… a first look at Misty Mountains’ resident stone throwers, the Giants!

I’m pretty damn happy with the design of these particular behemoths, but they do look a lot more like a Rock Biter (from NeverEnding Story) than the weird fleshy creatures I expected.
