BATMAN V SUPERMAN Might Kick Off During Climactic MAN OF STEEL Battle

There’s been a lot of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice set photos making their way around the Interwebs in recent weeks, mostly consisting of Metropolis in ruins and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne running through the wreckage. If you’re like me, you were probably thinking that these scenes are taking place during a battle between Superman and some unknown enemy…perhaps one of Lex Luthor’s killer robots. Man, that city can’t catch a break can it.

Well, if a recent rumor from Geek Tyrant is to believe, these scenes are actually taking place in the past. According to their source, who is an extra on the set, Batman V Superman kicks off during the battle between Superman and General Zod in Man of Steel.

He went on to talk about the timeframe of the movie and where it picks up, saying that it starts “as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we’ve been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.

Sounds like Bruce Wayne picked a bad time to take a business trip. The question is why he’s heading to Wayne Tower during the chaos. Does he want to ride out the chaos at his home base, or did he go there to retrieve his…”formal wear.” It would be cool to hear that Batman was helping civilians during the battle, and considering that two flying men were pummeling each other across the city, a guy dressed as a bat would probably be relegated further back in the news.

The article also revealed that the ending of the film has already been shot, and among the scenes already filmed include “featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body.” A Bat-heist makes sense. That Dark Knight Returns armor is packing heavy hardware, but if Batman wants even a chance of stopping Superman, he’ll need some of that green rock. As for Zod’s body, I won’t be surprised if we see Lex Luthor go mad scientist on it to see if there’s something in Zod’s anatomy that can be weaponized. Again, technology can pack a punch, but when fighting Superman, it helps to have a Kryptonain edge.

Wait, I’ve got it! Luthor will channel his inner Victor Frankenstein and reanimate Zod’s body. Superman vs. zombie Zod…okay, yeah, that’s too stupid.
