Could ARROW jump the shark and add NIGHTWING?

Arrow has become one of the best superhero shows on TV, but after season two have they pulled the Fonz move and jumped the shark?

So early in the shows lifespan we’ve already seen the death of Oliver’s family plus their company, Queen Consolidated, has been taken away from him.

Rumors are flying around about the potential of Steve R McQueen from The Vampire Diaries making an appearance as Nightwing in season 3.But anyway, one of the coolest parts about Arrow is the massive amount of Easter eggs in the show, such as mentions of Gotham and Bludhaven both of which are stomping grounds for Dick Grayson.

Besides if anyone looks the part of a TV show Nightwing it’s Steve R McQueen.

But isn’t it too soon to introduce him, The Flash is in the early stages of establishing himself? Not to mention before Bruce Wayne makes an appearance? Shouldn’t we get more cameos from more up and coming heroes first? I am a little concerned that if something isn’t done to make the show as exciting as that first season while maintaining a grounded status than the show is going to break away from what made it great that first place.

And I would hate to see Nightwing be the nail in the coffin.

If done the right way bringing Dick Grayson to the small screen could be amazing. Maybe we begin by exploring an origin story for Nightwing. I could accept that but randomly dropping the character in out of nowhere wouldn’t sit well with me, but a majority of my gripe their was more of the recasting of Sara Lance and acting like we didn’t notice.

But whatever, if Arrow does include Nightwing they have to tread lightly with how they execute it. They must introduce the character more of how we met Oliver in the first seaso and not how so many characters were thrown in during season two. Let’s be honest looking back at season two, it all felt a little claustrophobic and all over the place.

So where did these rumors come from? The speculation began when McQueen posted a image of his and Stephen Amell at an LA Kings game with the hashtags #arrow #nightwing #golakings

Hardly any reason to get your fanboy panties in a bunch but interesting none the less.

But take the rumors with a grain of salt just because an actor posts some twitter pictures and hash tags it don’t mean anything. So hold off getting geeky and shouting. Wait for any potential official announcements, hopefully soon.
