ARCHIE comes to TV. No I’m NOT KIDDING!

If you woke up today and thought the world needs more Archie with an undercurrent of unnecessary shock value then congratulations! Because Fox seems eager to make your dreams come true.

Keep in mind that the follow barrage of info is currently in development and there are many phases between now and a season order. But following the success of other comic adaptions, Greg Berlanti is set to usher in these icons with the assist of Warner Bros. TV in the producing chair.

Our plucky dogooder and the citizens of his home town seems to be ready for the live action leap, especially as eager TV executives pitch a show that “offers a bold, subversive take on Archie, Betty, Veronica and their friends, exploring the surreality of small-town life.”

Take a moment to let that sink in.

According to the report we can expect the aptly named Riverdale to showcase the core and eternal love triangle while making room for rival Reggie Mantle, Jughead Jones, Kevin Keller and other notable properties such as Josie and the Pussycats.

Is it wrong that I’m kind of excited about this? I’ve always had a soft spot for these characters and you know what maybe this’ll replace Glee which, sorry fanboys and fangirls, wouldn’t be a bad thing.
