ANIME MONDAY 8/12/13

Hello & Welcome to another edition of ANIME MONDAY on Unleash the Fanboy! I’m your Japanamation loving host Marcell and we have some choice episodes for you guys today. It’s Water Vs. Ice as Gray & Juvia duke it out in “FAIRY TAIL”, Adachi is brought to justice in “PERSONA 4”, The quest comes to an end in the final episode of “SWORD ART ONLINE”, It’s back to the dungeon in “MAGI”, and the Female Titan finds her prey in “ATTACK ON TITAN”. Now let’s get started.

Fairy Tail – “A Flower Blooms in The Rain”

“A Flower Blooms in The Rain” is a decent episode that continues to satisfy, but not wow. Elfman’s fight was a bit anti-climatic and most of the stuff was moved out of the way for the Gray, Juvia fight. Juvia’s back story was a nice addition and it was cool to see Gray take the reins in another episode.

Attack On Titan – “Forest of Giant Trees – 57th Expedition Beyond the Walls Pt. 2”

“Forest of Giant Trees” despite it’s slow start is a good episode with few moments of development and loads of suspensed dripped alongside the rising body count. The music, especially when the Female Titan enters the forest, hits in all the right spots and the animation remains top notch. The war to survive continues next week as the Survey Corps continues to deal with the Female Titan.

Persona 4 The Animation – “We Can Change The World”

“We Can Change The World” is a nice conclusion to the case that wraps things up well enough and has plenty of drama and action to satisfy. While the animation can be a bit odd at times the episode overall was a good one. The Investigation concludes next week as the final truth is revealed.

Sword Art Online – “The World Seed”

“The World Seed” is a pretty good ending to a decent series. It wraps up the ambient plot points, leaving things ambiguous for a second season while still having a satisfying enough standalone ending. The interaction between the players after the games was nice and the animation & music was great. The adventure has ended as we say goodbye to Sword Art Online.

Magi: Labyrinth of Magic – “The Two Princes”

“The Two Princes” is a decent episode that introduces the next arc of the story well enough. A new dungeon is introduced, evil plots are set, characters are expanded on and there even some humorous moments to lighten the mood. The adventure continues next week as Alibaba & Co. tackle Zagan.
