Potential WORLD WAR HULK Movie Connected To THOR: THE DARK WORLD

I’ve often derided the concept of a World War Hulk movie int he past, but if there were to be one, Thor: The Dark World would have provided a testing ground for many  of its characters and species. We’ve witness Marvel delve into their dense library of Cosmic tales for The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, but I never would’ve expected them to incorporate elements from World War Hulk in their cinematic universe.   And that’s what they’ve almost done, according to this recent batch of concept art which was sent to us via e-mail.

While delving through the mass of images (which include a pretty rad take on Mangog and a potential look at Beta Ray Bill), I stumbled across a “female Oldstrong” character who failed to make it into the final film. She bears a striking resemblance to Caiera of Sakaar, who was Hulk’s wife in Planet Hulk, the prelude to World War Hulk.

Sure, this could’ve been nothing more than a tiny little Easter Egg for fanboys to enjoy, but the very first Avengers tidbits in Iron Man (2008) were meant to be the same, and that turned into an actual movie. Who’s to say World War Hulk won’t?  BTW, There’s another obvious connection that we talked about with Korg the Kronan.

Well, I suppose I’ve said it won’t in the past, but that was more in reaction to some baseless rumor mongering amongst our geeky peers than as an attack on the actual concept. Although, I would also criticize the prospect of a World War Hulk movie based on the concept alone, which would transform Mark Ruffalo’s recently heroic Hulk into the villain. Now that the big green guy has found his cinematic footing, I would rather he remain a good guy, than live to see himself become a villain.

Boom! Dark Knight quote inserted! To those who said it was impossible to fit a Nolan quote innocuously into an article about World War Hulk, I say a very sincere “Eat it!”.
