What We Know About Fox’s Fantastic Four Reboot! It’s Clobberin’ Time in the Dirty South.

The Fantastic Four are coming to the Dirty South baby! It was announced that Fox would begin filming the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot in Louisiana starting in September. This is the first Fox Marvel film shot in Louisiana; normally Fox looooooves Canada and shoots most of their comic flicks there (including “X-Men” and X-Men: Day of Future Past”).

The reason Fox is shooting in Louisiana is because the state has a very generous film production incentive program which “offers a 30 percent transferable tax credit for in-state expenditures related to a film’s production — and an additional 5 percent labor incentive for hiring the state’s residents.”

We really don’t know much about this movie. We know the movie will be directed by Josh Trank (“Chroncle”). It is rumored that Allison Williams (“Girls”) will be playing Sue “Invisible Woman” Storm, and Michael B. Jordan will be playing Johnny “Human Torch” Storm.

Jordan is best known for his roles in “Friday Night Lights” and “Chronicle”. He currently stars in the critically acclaimed movie Fruitvale Station” (my girlfriend is harassing me to see it). Yesterday on Access Hollywood Live, the hosts told Jordan they heard he was playing the Human Torch. He replied “I’ve been hearing about that too,” with a smile. He then stated “I can’t talk about it too much, but it’s a… I’m definitely a comic book fan.” Hmmmmmmm, I’m betting he cannot announce it yet, but he sure as heck is not denying it.

I want to know who the villain is going to be in the movie. I would actually love to see Mole Man depicted like the resentful freak he is. I just got done reading Hunger, so I would love to see a bad@$$ version of Galactus done better the monstrosity in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”. And of course, Dr. Doom needs a new version, because the last version did not do his character justice. Even Stan Lee admits he hated the Doom from the last flicks.

And I want them to somehow cast Kerry Washington in these new movies.  I don’t care how, make her Alicia Masters again or something.  I just want her cast in every movie.

“Fantastic Four” is set for release on March 6, 2015.

I hope that they do not cast the movie like that.

Johnny Storm isn’t black so why make him black? That makes zero since to me, and I’m a BLACK MAN!!!!

    • MC_Rayzin

And Nick Fury was originally white. Things change, it’s not a big damn deal.

      • Marcell Hines

Yeah but those movies were based on the ultimate universe so its not a huge change.

    • Marcell Hines

I don’t care if they make Johnny black as long as they make sue black as well, or at least mixed. What you do to one you have to do to the other in my opinion.

      • kins

Unless they come up with them being adopted siblings. or Black Father white mother.

Or they cut the bro/sis relationship between the 2

        • Marcell Hines

          which would be supremely stupid

  • Patricio

I hope fox won’t regret this.. turning Johnny Storm a black person. I’m not racist.. ugh..

  • Common Sense

Ummm Johnny and Sue are brother and sister. Why make Johnny black? Just to get a black audience? Makes no sense…

  • milk

    Johnny Depp played Tonto
    Ben Kingsley played “Mandarin”
    Ben Affleck in Argo
    John Wayne played ghengis kahn
    Avatar the last Air Bender
If they can do it for those characters why not the Human Torch? People do adopt and that might actually make the character interesting for once.

All of the above mentioned sucked ass too. Which leads me to believe that this will suck ass as well.

Sounds like the makings of a HUGE turd sandwich. Sure, casting a latina as Sue Storm worked out so well before, so let’s cast a black Johnny Storm.

It’s really dumb that they keep trying to change the race and even position of already established characters. Look at john stewart green lantern, he wasnt even a member of the justice league in the comics and they put him as the main lantern in the cartoon. Why ? because they thought that having too many white people on the team would offend some people ? Why would you change the race of human torch ? there is no reason what so ever aside from trying to pander to certain groups. How bout you stop changing the race of established characters for no reason and actually use the ones you already have. I would give my left nut to see a bad ass Luke Cage movie ! But knowing my luck they would make him white.

    • Marcell Hines

Actually John Stewart DID join the Justice League in the comics before the cartoon aired so yeah.

Where’s Wallace? Where the fuck is Wallace? Huh? Huh? String? String? Look at me! Where the fuck is Wallace?

To give a reply to every comment. A white sister and black brother is more common everyday as more interracial couples get together. There is a term that many use “half” brother or sister. It is a common occurrence many of you may have in your own families. If you feel you are going to have to put the words “I am not racist” in your statement you should maybe pass on commenting. Everyone who is threatened by a black human torch should riot over Justin Timberlake and especially Miley Cyrus’ new video because they complelly stole a culture not theirs and made boatloads of money off it. And those who created it are still judged if they embrace it. Plus, where was the riots when they made Xavier a Brit

Justin Timberlake & Miley Cyrus (weird as she is now) are on a completely different spectrum than this conversation. They weren’t african american people who were white washed based on their managers or whoever.

While I don’t have a problem with them being black, i do have a problem with them not being black at the same time if that makes any sense. Yes there are interracial couples out there, but if that will be the case with them Sue should at least LOOK like she is mulatto if they choose to go that route.

As someone previously commented with all the diversity in Marvel there really isn’t much of a need to “blacklist” established characters.

What is done to one must be done to the other.

It’s just idiotic to change the characters just for the heck of it or to be PC… Even Nick Fury… If the characters began as white, keep it that way, and make movies with the real cool black super heroes like luke cage and black panther. They were created exactly to balance the overall major white roster of heroes and have themselves interesting and rich backstories
