What We Know About Fox’s Fantastic Four Reboot! It’s Clobberin’ Time in the Dirty South.

The Fantastic Four are coming to the Dirty South baby! It was announced that Fox would begin filming the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot in Louisiana starting in September. This is the first Fox Marvel film shot in Louisiana; normally Fox looooooves Canada and shoots most of their comic flicks there (including “X-Men” and X-Men: Day of Future Past”).

The reason Fox is shooting in Louisiana is because the state has a very generous film production incentive program which “offers a 30 percent transferable tax credit for in-state expenditures related to a film’s production — and an additional 5 percent labor incentive for hiring the state’s residents.”

We really don’t know much about this movie. We know the movie will be directed by Josh Trank (“Chroncle”). It is rumored that Allison Williams (“Girls”) will be playing Sue “Invisible Woman” Storm, and Michael B. Jordan will be playing Johnny “Human Torch” Storm.

Jordan is best known for his roles in “Friday Night Lights” and “Chronicle”. He currently stars in the critically acclaimed movie Fruitvale Station” (my girlfriend is harassing me to see it). Yesterday on Access Hollywood Live, the hosts told Jordan they heard he was playing the Human Torch. He replied “I’ve been hearing about that too,” with a smile. He then stated “I can’t talk about it too much, but it’s a… I’m definitely a comic book fan.” Hmmmmmmm, I’m betting he cannot announce it yet, but he sure as heck is not denying it.

I want to know who the villain is going to be in the movie. I would actually love to see Mole Man depicted like the resentful freak he is. I just got done reading Hunger, so I would love to see a bad@$$ version of Galactus done better the monstrosity in “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”. And of course, Dr. Doom needs a new version, because the last version did not do his character justice. Even Stan Lee admits he hated the Doom from the last flicks.

And I want them to somehow cast Kerry Washington in these new movies.  I don’t care how, make her Alicia Masters again or something.  I just want her cast in every movie.

“Fantastic Four” is set for release on March 6, 2015.
