What Do You Think About The New Sleevless THOR?

THOR: THE DARK WORLD is trucking along with filming in the English countryside and one very sneaky fanboy managed to capture a shot of Goldilock’s stunt double in a chic new sleeveless suit.

As much as I hate to slur our glorious ginger god, Joss Whedon, I have to admit I was disappointed when bare armed Thor appeared in THE AVENGERS. Even though Chris Hemsworth sports some pretty Ahhhnold sized guns, the character seemed less imposing; more of a beach bum than a lightning wielding deity.

What do you think. Does this new suit look better than the last? Or is the “tank top” armor bad in all of its iterations?

Either way, KING FANBOY approves…

Heyo. I'm Nick Dourian, the Editor-In-Chief around these parts. Now, I went to a few other sites, read a few awesome bios, and I really want to fabricate a badass origins story for myself, but I'm feeling particularly unimaginative today, so 'f' that jazz. I read comics, drink bourbon, and cook meats. Imagine Ron Swanson, but with a fuller beard and cuter eyes.

poor Chris found his costume was hot when filming in the dessert and then in Iceland where it is cold they remove the sleeves -oh the trials of being an actor-it looks okay not really that different–i guess more muscle for those that like bulging muscles -I prefer lean and mean. I am curious to see if they have changed Loki’s.They increased the horn size in the avengers -I wonder if they now get reduced or dissapear all together in Thor 2–from what we have heard of the story he may not wear them much anyway

Sleeveless Thor in Avengers was a nod to old school Thor’s costume

Just wish he had his helmet

  • DALE

YES I WANT THE HELMET…and i do NOT like the T top look, stick wth the thor 1 look badss longsleeves

sorry guys, but the helmet and tiny hammer are just bad throwbacks and wouldn’t translate well at all to the big screen; following the more updated ULTIMATE Thor version is a bit more realistic imo

I grew up with tanktop Thor so the sleeves have always look out of place to me. When most movies have to resort to stupid rubber suits to have the superhero look Wheddon would be pretty stupid not to take advantage of his actor’s good conditioning. Muscles are a symbol of power and what makes the visual of a hero since ancient times.

sleeveless would look cool if mjolnir isn’t that cute

I go with the no sleeves as Thor was invented and was drawn like this for so many years until the mid-90’s (I think) when some artist decide to mess around with Thor’s look.

I don’t mind the small changes into the concept, but adding sleeves kinda took him away from the Vikings’ look we grew up loving.

    No sleeves for me!

ps. I almost wish the actual Stunt double would play the damn character.. he looks more like a Viking than Hemsworth.. He looks like a guy went to battle for is kind, he looks like a bad ass ready to hit someone instead of a GQ Magazine cover boy with his hair perfectly placed like a chick would do her hair.. Hemsworth actually looks like Hannah Montana’s brother in law.. Not a warrior…

Don’t get me wrong, Hemsworth did bring us Thor to the screen, but if there is one character who should be recast (other than Eric Bana, the original Hulk movie’s Banner, p.p.s. I still think Norton was a better choice than Ruffalo for the role, he actually looked the part and was able to translate the ‘weak’ Banner version more effectively) with a more rugged and though guy, it’s Thor.. Seriously, just look at the damn stunt double and tell me that he would not make a better Thor!
