TRANSFORMERS 4 Gains an Impressive Actor: Stanley Tucci!

The Transformers film series isn’t exactly known as cinematic art. In fact, the reputation that the series has gotten is pretty negative. There are many reasons for this, one of which is that the acting is never really that good. In fact, you can argue that the Transformers films are what made everyone hate Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. So, this casting news might come as a surprise: At CinemaCon, Michael Bay announced that veteran actor Stanley Tucci will be joining the cast of Transformers 4!

Yup, guys, an actual fan-favorite actor in a Transformers film. That is pretty much unheard of. Of course, for all we know, Tucci will just voice a robot, but still! Maybe Bay is actually serious about making this film the big one!

Tucci has a pretty impressive resume: He has gotten Golden Globe awards for his work in Conspiracy and Winchell, and he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for playing the villain in The Lovely Bones. Comic fans might recognize him as Abraham Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Transformers 4, which is being directed by Michael Bay, will be released on June 27, 2014, and will screen in IMAX 3D theaters. Does this news make you more optimistic about the film?
