TRANSFORMERS 4 Producer Confirms DINOBOTS

Oh, Dinobots. Way back in February, we broke the very first story revealing that you clawed and fanged mechanical dinosaurs would appear in TRANSFORMERS 4. While it seemed like a far fetched idea at the time, we’ve been vindicated in recent weeks, as leaks from the set of Michael Bay’s latest rock-em sock-em robot adventure have revealed that Grimlock and his Jurassic buddies will take the stage.

Well, now Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has officially confirmed that the Dinobots will star in the film. Here’s an excerpt from an interview with a Chinese journalist. Apologies for the messy English, as this was translated from Mandarin.

“I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.”

Besides the obligatory “I told ya so”, I wonder how the Dinobots will apear onscreen? In our original story from february, we were told that Transformers 4 would spend a bit of time with time travelling, and perhaps Michael Bay will use that as a method of introducing Tyrannosaurus Robot to his cinematic universe.

Hopefully, the Dinos will be a bit more eloquent than they were in the original 80’s cartoons. I love Grimlock, but he isn’t the most eloquent transformer in the world (and that’s putting it nicely!).
