Toy Story 3 Scribe To Re-Write Catching Fire

Yay, more good news for Catching Fire! After being plagued with delays, director of I Am Legend Francis Lawrence was recently hired to helm the sequel. Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours) originally wrote the script (along with the help of the director of the first installment Gary Ross), but news has now broke of Academy Award winner Michael Ardnt (Toy Story 3) in talks to re-write the script.

The reason for this is simply because Lawrence wanted the script to fit his style, and the Beaufoy version was obviously stylized to fit Ross’s tastes (before he departed the project). If this news is true, then Ardnt will have to glue his ass to his computer as Lionsgate are desperate to get everything ready for a Fall shooting date, as main star Jennifer Lawrence then has to be rushed off to Fox to start filming on the sequel to the critically acclaimed X-Men: First Class.
