Tom Hardy And Taylor Kistch Wanted For TERMINATOR 5

There is a new report that British actor Tom Hardy (Inception, Mad Max Fury Road) is yet again looking to play an iconic badass. This time it’s the role of Terminator 5‘s John Connor according to THR. Hardy’s Dark Knight Rises co-star Christian Bale previously played Connor. Tom has been linked to big roles like this before such as the new Snake Plissken in the reboot of Escape From New York. He’ll also be playing the new Mad Max in Fury Road and taking the lead in a Splinter Cell movie. Sounds like Hardy wants to work up his action hero cache. Having Hardy on board for the fifth installment could give the new trilogy a strong lead to carry the new era of the franchise.

Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones) is expected to direct. SchomesKnow previously noted Emilia Clarke, Margot Robbie, Brie Larson, Garrett Hedlund and Boyd Holbrook are also in the mix for the leads. Variety also adds that Taylor “blockbuster bombs” Kistch (John Carter, Battleship) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men Days of Future Past) are testing for the role of Kyle Reese.
