The Story of Nicolas Cage’s Comic Theft To Become Movie

Yep, you read the title right. Not only is Nicolas Cage accepting almost any acting role he can get his hands on nowadays, he’s also selling his own personal stories for a chance at box office glory.

In all fairness, though, this movie actually has a chance at awesome-ness,  ideally be a mixture of Being John Malkovich and Snatch. The story begins back in 2000 when Cage’s prized Action Comics #1, the very first appearance of Superman, was stolen. In a sign of serendipitous fate, it was found last year inside of an abandoned storage container and went on to sell for $2.1 million at auction.

Here’s more from THR

Lionsgate has picked up Action No. 1, a heist comedy from writers and Reno 911 creators Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. The duo is also producing along with Peter Principato and Paul Young. The story centers on a group of nerds who attempt to steal Cage’s copy of Action Comics No. 1, the landmark 1938 comic that introduced the world to the Man of Steel.
