THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Passes $800m Worldwide

Despite being nearly $50m behind The Dark Knight domestically at this point in it’s release, The Dark Knight Rises has officially passed the $800m mark worldwide with an international count of  $445,300,000 and a domestic gross of  $390,149,000 adding up to $835,449,000. Despite being knocked off the US #1 this week with The Bourne Legacy, it’s obvious audiences are still turning out in the numbers to check out Nolan’s last Batman movie.

Warner Bros are obviously particularly pleased, and one can only hope that this will encourage them to move forward with some of their other DC projects. Due to the movie’s hit-and-miss box office performance so far, sometimes looking like it won’t make a billion and sometimes looking like it will, it’s nearly impossible to tell at this point whether it will or not. However, I would bet good money on the possibility that it will break that mark and will probably have done so by the end of the month. At the end of the day though, none of us are getting a cent of that money, and the only good thing for us to come out of it making a billion is that it’s better for the comic book movie industry as a whole.

How much do you think The Dark Knight Rises will make by the end of it’s run? Sound off below.
