The CW Developing A WONDER WOMAN Origins TV Show!

News has just broke that, barely a year after the scrapping of David E. Kelly’s Wonder Woman pilot (it sucked) on the same network, the CW are developing a new TV series based on the famous DC comics character, this time a complete origin tale. It’s working title is Amazon, and is currently being penned by Allan Heinburg (Grey’s Anatomy, The O.C.) and will focus on Wonder Woman as a “young, budding superhero,” like Smallville.

Calm down!

Heinburg also worked on the Young Avengers comic series back in 2005, so his teen soap-opera history resonates well with the people that run the CW. I think that because DC are too stupid and lazy (and have no balls) to make a live-action Wonder Woman movie, they’ll tie Amazon into the Justice League adaptation. Could we see a crossover between this show and Arrow?

Currently, the script is only in the development stage and nothing has been greenlit. I think that the Amazonian warrior is best suited for TV, but if it’s anything like Smallville I won’t be watching. Will you? Share your thoughts below.
