“Avengers! Avengers! Oh my Gawd, it’s The Avengers!”
You’ve probably heard this type of rabid fanboy ravings if you visited the theatre anytime in the last week to see Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes assemble onscreen, but if you haven’t seen it… then you’re entire life has been one gigantic dissapointment and you should probably jump off a cliff. Kidding, of course! But seriously, don’t do that… UTF cannot handle another lawsuit!
So… what was I talking about? Oh, yes, that’s right… The Avengers! The superhero team up of a life time (Marvel’s words, not mine, but I quite heartily agree) is set to demolish the second weekend box office record established by James Cameron’s Avatar. That film scored big in 2009 with a solid haul of $75 million in its sophomore weekend, but even with the traditional 50% post-debut drop, The Avengers will most likely blow past it with an estimated $85-$135 million.
Not bad Marvel… not bad at all.
