Deadline reports that The Avengers has crossed the $500m mark domestically in a record-breaking 23 days, compared to Avatar‘s 36. Despite Men in Black III pushing it off the #1 spot at the box office this weekend, the superhero team-up of a lifetime is still going incredibly strong. The movie is the fourth highest grossing of all time (and is expected to get to the #3 spot this week) and Disney is expected to release a full box office report today.
The flick has made $38M during the 3-day weekend and a $48.5M Memorial Holiday. Additionally, Avengers is also Disney’s highest grossing movie ever. Pretty good ‘eh? What did you see this weekend? The Avengers or Men In Black III? Sound off below.
