Remember that cast list for the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire? That might be fake. In a response to an email from LA Times, Taylor Kitsch denied any involvement he has with the movie saying, “Not going to happen.” The cast list included Kitsch, Garrett Hedland (Tron: Legacy) and Arnie Hammer (Mirror Mirror, The Social Network), but if it does turn out to be legit I want Hammer to play him as I’m a big fan of the actor and think he would fit the role perfectly.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins production in August, so it’s likely we’ll hear some official casting news in the next few weeks. I’m glad Kitsch isn’t involved, after the bombing of his previous two movies Battleship and John Carter and as I said in a previous article, I don’t consider those to be a coincedence.
