STAR WARS EPISODE 7 Chooses New Actor

Looks like ol’ J. J. Abrams has dipped his hands into Michael Bay’s secret cache of sweaty, barely legal actors for STAR WARS EPISODE 7. According to the good folks at AICN, which is the original home of geek web journalism, Jack Reynor of Transformers: Age of Extinction has been cast in an unspecified position. This is no Latino Review scoop (whose reports are grabbed from agents leaking info), and since AICN rarely shares unverified information, I trust them.

Now that we can safely assume Reynor is cast in Episode 7, who will he be? With his sharp features, he’d craft a great performance as a duplicitous Jedi or an outright Sith. Still, the young thespian is a heroic figure in Bay’s Age of Extinction, so perhaps Abrams will cast Reynor in a similar light. Toss him a green lightsaber, a few platoons of shoddy Stormtroopers to hack through (with actually gore this time! Lightsaber chop things! Let’s see it), and unleash him into the new Trilogy.

While the Expanded Universe storylines are presumed dead and gone, some of its characters may still survive. According to a leak from Abrams secret cabal, Mara Jade is destined for the New Trilogy, so surely her kiddos will join the adventure too? Then could Reynor possibly portray Ben Skywalker, Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade’s son?

I’ve kinda soured on the idea of Jacen joining the next few movies, as his story is a bit too predictable, especially since Anakin Skywalker has the same damn path, so I hope Reynor won’t adapt that character for the big screen. I still want Jaina (Jacen’s sister) in the films. She’s a total badass.

What say you?
