STAR WARS’ BB-8 is The Droid I’m Looking For

If you’re a fan of Star Wars and robots then this article is for you. If you’re not a fan then you should read this article anyways.

Immersing yourself into the Star Wars world is easy once you watch the movie on the big screen; you immediately get sucked into all things Star Wars. Now, you don’t have to just watch the movies in order to feel like you are somehow a part of their world – I mean you can, nothing wrong with that. I always do but now there seems to be something more than just movies, and action figures.

Sphero created a real-life BB-8 droid, that can be slightly seen in the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. BB-8 is a droid that rolls around, and that you can control yourself with the help of an app and a few voice activated commands. There are a few words that you can tell the droid in order for the droid to respond. I’m actually really excited about this product and if it wasn’t for the price I would have one right now in front of me. I’m actually a little hesitant of this bot though and I’m not sure how well the commands work with the droid but I haven’t heard any complaints yet about the commands not working or if it glitches or not.

I’ve always wanted my own Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels. Of course, I mean the characters they’ve played, not the actors themselves, that’d be weird, and not to mention creepy.

For those of you who don’t know, Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels played the infamous R2-D2 and C-3PO. Wait, you mean they’re not actually robots?! Whaa–??! The illusion is shattered! But seriously, ever since I first saw Star Wars I’ve wanted my own miniature robot and this droid seems to be finally making my dreams come true!

BB-8 has a cuteness factor to it that sort of reminds me of a pet that you can keep without all of the allergies – well okay, without my allergies adding to it. One of the voice commands you can do is to ask the droid how they are doing, and she would supposedly do a little dance for you, or if you tell her, “it’s a trap!” she’ll run and hide. I don’t know if it’s a she but I’m just guessing, who am I to judge?

This droid goes for about $150 which for me is a lot but if it works then I am okay with the price being how it is, but believe it or not I’m definitely seeing one of these droids in my future. Who knows, maybe I’ll get it for Christmas? I couldn’t be any happier to one day own my own droid that I might just join this bot in the little dance that it does when it’s happy. I’ve always imagined myself as a Jedi, and since I can’t actually go and live in Tatooine then I could at least own a droid and pretend it’s from there. I can safely say that this is the droid I’m looking for.
