A few days ago Collider took part in an interview with director Marc Webb, who was doing the promotional rounds for the Blu-Ray/DVD release of The Amazing Spider-Man when he was joined by a surprise guest: Stan ‘The Man’ Lee. The Spider-Man creator just came in to say hi, but the site fortunately took the opportunity and asked Lee to pitch his ideas for his cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and yes, they are very cool. Read what he said below:
“My last cameo was alright – but it wasn’t big enough! Why do we have to think of it as a cameo, why not a leading role? Or couldn’t we think of it as a key scene that the whole movie hinges on. I’ll admit I was great in that cameo [….] but I think in the next one we ought to go a little deeper.”
There’s much more in the video, but with Stan Lee you can never really differentiate from when he’s being serious and when he’s not, but I think that a longer bigger part in the movie from Stan (not a main role) might just take me out of the movie a little, although I definitely wouldn’t be unhappy about it.
