SMALLVILLE SEQUEL IS BACK ON TRACK!!!

We last reported rumors of a Smallville sequel a few months ago in the form of the purported series titled Metropolis. While we’re still not sure about those rumors, a new one has sparked up from none other than Bryan Q. Milller, a heavy-hitting writer on the last few seasons of the CW’s series.

After the massive fan-fueled calls for more of our favorite Boyscout, Miller has suggested releasing an 11th season in novel format. With the recent success of Joss Whedon’s comic book continuations of Buffy, Angel, and Firefly, Miller’s suggestion isn’t that far fetched.

But we all know my feeling towards Smallville…and they’re not so favorable. I say let the series die in peace!!! Besides, the last season showed us Tom Welling’s final transformation into Superman. So if the series continued, it would undermine its entire purpose, which is to tell the tale of Clark Kent before he became the World’s Finest.

Miller, to you I say…Stop beating a dead horse! Let Smallville fade into the rosy halls of television history.

    Graphic novel form would be a great way to continue it, or an ongoing series….. a novel though? meh

    A new series would not undermine Smallville. Smallville is a 10 season origin story, an ‘end of the beginning story’, it did its job, and now it can be built on. Although I would have preffered that they kept Zod or Doomsday for Superman to deal with, I think that there is still plenty of room to work with, like the return of Lex Luthor. They even provided a nice Easter Egg when Clark met his future self in the elevator, and as long as they made that episode Superman, rather than Clark, centric it would work.

      Even though i dislike Smallville…mainly because it gave me blue balls for Superman…I see your point. I definitely can agree with your ideas about Zod and Doomsday…those are purely Superman villains, not Clark Kent’s.

      The main thing i disliked was that it suffered from the “basic cable drama disease”. You know…how they drag out situations episode after episode, just to drag you along for their final reveal. I got really sick of that. I wish someone would take a superhero show and give it some fluidity.

    The should do a Justice League spinoff since in cinema if they started now it wouldn’t be ready for 7 years with all the other movies like Flash, Green Lantern 2, Green Arrow, Wonder Women movies they’d have to make and release to T it up like Marvel did with Avengers

    so they could use this spinoff as a way to Market and build up hype for a big screen justice league fir at least 5 seasons while they get everything else in order

      I agree. Justice League all the way. I have a sneaking suspicion that Nolan has cleverly begun sometime of Justice League assembly in TDKR tho

    i cant believe people are talking shit all ready before they can see it how it go in to turn out i will bet.it go in turn out good i am a fan o Superman i hope tom welling continue to be superman he is the cool lest guy i know in the tv show to pout out as Clark Kent

      I just wasn’t a fan of the series. It used Superman’s mythos as an excuse to make a soap opera. LAME!
