SKYFALL Hits $1 Billion Worldwide

If you’d told someone two months ago that the twenty-third entry in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall, would beat movies like The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to third place on the box office list of 2012 and make a billion dollars they’d probably wouldn’t believe you. Well, for the first time in the franchise’s history, Skyfall has done just that.

After two months of release, the latest Bond film broke past the billion dollar barrier today, becoming the third movie of 2012 to do so (after The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises) – without the help of China, which makes an awful lot of money from movies. It’ll release in China on January 21.

Well done to Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes, MGM, Sony… I’ll shut up.
