This was just in production and wrapped yesterday, but we already have our first teaser trailer for the R-rated comedy sequel 22 Jump Street. We see Schmidt and Jenko going back into deep undercover, this time instead of high school they’re heading to college. Seems like they’re aiming to revisit similar jokes but are branching out a bit with the new setting. The cast includes Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Craig Roberts, Amber Stevens, Wyatt Russell and Jillian Bell. The comedy flick will be hitting theatres this summer on June 13th, 2014.
It was rumored but not confirmed, that Hill and Sony were trying to get Brad Pitt to shoot a cameo for the sequel. Johnny Depp appeared in the first film, bridging his work on the original television show. The hope was that Pitt would film a similar nod. While filming the first installment Jonah Hill stayed at Pitt’s New Orleans home, the pair became friends after making Moneyball and Pitt invited him to stay at his place while he was shooting 21 Jump Street.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.
