Set Photos From Scarlett Johansson’s Super Assassin Flick LUCY

Scarlett Johansson is having a smashing run of films lately with the upcoming release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and her eventual larger role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s allowed her to seek more interesting roles while taking breaks as the Black Widow. Two of her more recent projects included the raunchy Joseph Gordon-Levitt directorial debut Don Jon and quirky digital love indie Her from director Spike Jonze. Another one of her upcoming films the alien thriller Under The Skin which is one to keep eye out for.

Her current role is actually more action driven than her usual non-Marvel projects. She plays the lead in Luc Besson’s (The Professional, Le Femme Nikita) Lucy and has an interesting concept behind it. Lucy is a drug mule who accidentally gets dosed during one of her drug runs. However, instead overdosing or becoming the next youtube sensation Lucy acquires the skills of an super assassin (think Kill Bill’s Deadly Viper Squad level). Morgan Freeman of all people is trying to hunt her down as he plays the film’s main villain. This is of course coming from the mind behind The Transporter, Danny The Dog and The Fifth Element, so stranger concepts have been hatched by him. Yet, I can buy into this as Bradley Cooper’s Limitless had a similar sci-fi premise and turned out decent enough. TheDailyMail was able to get ahold of the first set photos of Scarlett on location in China. I assume those assassin creating drugs are in that briefcase attached to Scarlett’s wrist. It’ll be interesting to see if this film is more of a humor infused action flick. Or more of a serious thriller that Besson used to focus on in his earlier films.
