SAORISE RONAN Admits To STAR WARS EPISODE 7 Audition

But she wouldn’t reveal much else!

Saorise Ronan, the teenage actress best known for her performance in Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones, has long been rumored for a role in J. J. Abram’s STAR WARS EPISODE 7, but with nothing more than a bag full of unsubstantiated rumors, we couldn’t vouch for the veracity of those reports.

Well, sensing our voracious appetite for geek gossip, Ronan herself revealed that YES!, she’s auditioned for the new trilogy, simply stating

“so has everyone”.

She also added that in her particular role she would portray Darth Maul’s granddaughter, who’s neither Sith nor Jedi, but definitely seeking revenge against the Jedi for her grandfather’s death.

Alright, that last bit’s not true, but she definitely has auditioned, although she refuses to reveal the role. Claiming that Disney’s higher ups would…

“chop off her head with a light-sabre”

I’m almost certain she’ll portray the film’s central protagonist (if chosen for the role), which I’m tempted to say is Jaina Solo. I know, I know… Kathleen Kennedy and the folks at Disney have repeatedly dismissed the Expanded Universe, claiming that all future films will feature original content, but while the actual plot of the EU may be trite, recycled Sci-Fi fare that only rarely succeeds as successful prose (Thrawn Trilogy fa’ life), its core characters are strong enough to cary a few films.
