The actor behind the roles of Kingpin in Daredevil and Kilowog in Green Lantern, Michael Clarke Duncan, passed away last night. On July 13th this year Duncan suffered a heart attack but was issued back home, much to the relief of his fans, and was believed to have been on the road to recovery but sadly that wasn’t the case. At 2AM this morning he went into cardiac arrest and was quickly rushed to hospital, soon passing away.
The actor is most well-known for his tear-jerking performance as John Coffey in The Green Mile, but geeks know him best from Daredevil, Green Lantern and Sin City. I certainly hope we don’t get any other star deaths this year, as it has been a truly bleak summer for Hollywood and entertainment, with the Aurora shootings, the suicide of Tony Scott and the passing of Neil Armstrong.
