Pubescent Boys Rejoice, FAST & FURIOUS 7 Filming This Summer

I’m not one to shame other folks’ preference in films, especially since mine can be downright dodgy (Twilight is a guilty, soul sucking pleasure of mine), but who’s ever honestly said “You know what the world needs? More Fast and Furious movies!”. I know I haven’t, at least not when I’m completely sober.

Well, despite my mild objections, Vin Diesel has claimed production on the next installment in the series is coming soon (perhaps filming this summer), which will be a quick turnaround, since Fast & Furious 6 still has 2 months until its debut. Again, not to be a whiny old man, but when the hell were 4 & 5 made? I can only remember the mildly entertaining Tokyo Drift iteration, released around 7 years ago, and I have absolutely no idea when these other ones premiered.

The world’s changing too fast!  Get off my lawn! And whatever other obligatory old geek ramblings I should mention.

It’s not all gloom and doom, though. Apparently these flicks are decent action fare under the direction of Justin Lin, and they’ve nabbed a genre perfect villain for the seventh go around. Collider revealed this bit last month:

As we all know Luke Evans eventually took on the villain role in Fast & Furious 6, but AICN has some incredibly solid info that Statham simply opted to take on the villain role in Fast & Furious 7 instead, as he’ll appear briefly at the end of Fast & Furious 6 to tease his major role in 7. Statham will be playing the brother of Evans’ character, and you can probably surmise that things don’t end up all fine and dandy for Evans at the end of Fast & Furious 6, so Statham will have plenty of motivation to go after Dom’s crew.

So what do you think? Ready for some super sick spin outs and bromantic hijincks?

Heyo. I'm Nick Dourian, the Editor-In-Chief around these parts. Now, I went to a few other sites, read a few awesome bios, and I really want to fabricate a badass origins story for myself, but I'm feeling particularly unimaginative today, so 'f' that jazz. I read comics, drink bourbon, and cook meats. Imagine Ron Swanson, but with a fuller beard and cuter eyes.

I have said many times that the world needs more Fast and Furious movies. I love this series.
