PARAMOUNT Crams 2016 With TRANSFORMERS 5, STAR TREK 3, More!

Paramount has some pretty good days ahead of it. They already have the almost-guaranteed billion dollar hit Transformers: Age of Extinction set for next week, and August’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is icing on the cake. But at CineEurope today, Paramount informed everyone that this is just the beginning!

Edward Ryan, Senior Vice President of Paramount Pictures International, revealed some of Paramount’s 2016 slate, filled with tentpole franchises and surefire hits.

The 2016 line-up includes the fifth installment of the multi-billion dollar Transformers film series, the third G.I. Joe film, and the third Star Trek film, not to mention the fourth film in the Beverly Hills Cop comedy series. Interestingly, Transformers 5 was originally set for 2017.

Meanwhile, Paramount has also shifted the dates for Paranormal Activity 5, and the fifth Bourne film to coincide with this 2016 bang. Paranormal 5 was originally set for 2014 to 2015, and the Bourne Legacy sequel was set for August 2015.

To keep track of all the films, here is a quick rundown:

Transformers: Age of Extinction will be released in theaters next week. Michael Bay will assumedly return for the fifth film.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation was released in 2013. Director Jon M. Chu is NOT set to return for the sequel.

Star Trek Into Darkness was also released in 2013. Now that Abrams is off to a galaxy far, far away, writer Roberto Orci is set to direct.

The latest Paranormal Activity was released earlier this year, but received less attention than previous installments.

The next Bourne film will see Jeremy Renner reprise his role, and Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) will direct.

What’s interesting about this is, 2016 was already very packed with big films like Captain America 3, Batman V. Superman, X-Men Apocalypse, Amazing Spider-Man 3, and others. Of course, even Marvel and DC might have to get worried, considering Paramount’s formidable line-up.

So, think you’ll be able to check out every single one of these films (assuming you want to)?
