It’s suburbs verses frat house in Nicholas Stoller’s Neighbors, the director is responsible for comedies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him To The Greek and Five-Year Engagement. A new green band trailer and poster for the movie have made their way online. The film stars Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids), Zac Efron, Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Ike Barinholtz, Jason Mantozoukas, and Lisa Kudrow, with a release date set for May 9th, 2014.

Screen shot 2013-12-18 at 6.16.57 PMA comedy about a young couple (Rogen and Byrne) suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby.

We have to assume that this will be more on the edge of dark humor as we’ve seen previously with the red band trailer. There was a point before Zac Efron’s personal issues that this film could translate into a breakout career into comedy, similar to Channing Tatum’s career resurrection from his co-starring role in 21 Jump Street. It looks funny enough to me that I’ll be checking it out, perhaps if anything it will change people’s perceptions of Efron as an actor.
