New Poster for AFTER EARTH

During the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey fanboys and fangirls were treated with a versatile barrage of awesomeness, that could (at the very least) get even the most unsure and cautious audience member somewhat excited for these 2013 offerings.  One of the flicks that got a trailer is the latest feature by M. Night Shyamalan (click here to watch it).

And today we’re sharing with you a brand new poster for the upcoming film.  It carries a striking and yet simple design that sees soon to be tough kid, Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) standing on top of his father’s downed space ship.  Much like the first few seconds of the teaser it sets the mood just right but the question is can this movie really turn into something special or is this going to be a mess?

Since people got a glimpse of this Smith-powered post-apocalyptic jungle romp, After Earth, fan reaction has been mixed at best.  I’ve read some positive things but a lot of negative reactions as well.  In my own view the teaser worked well enough to get me cautiously interested but not quite yet excited for this father and son jaunt on an apparently very anti-human Earth.

But what do you guys think?  Are you ready to give this movie a try or are you going to avoid this like we all probably should?  Sound off with your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

After Earth is directed by M. Night Shyamalan and opens June 7, 2013.  It stars Will Smith and Jaden Smith.
