New One-Sheet for THE WOLVERINE Showcases Silver Samurai

Even after seeing the trailer on the big screen while watching Iron Man 3, The Wolverine fails to impress me. It looks, well, for a lack of better word, dull. The story looks very uninteresting and the villain has been displayed far too little. Not only that, but can the Silver Samurai really hold up a film? (I think his rather awful appearance in the 90’s cartoon is the primary reason why I think that.) Now, Director James Mangold has tweeted a brand new poster, this time starring the Samurai himself.

The CinemaCon trailer was better than the main thing, it actually gave us a glimpse of the antagonist. Some might argue the suit is still robotic and ‘borrows’ cues from Iron Man, but I think it’s fantastic upgrade.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The Wolverine will be slashing into theaters once again on July 26th.
