New “CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER” Character Posters & Set Pics

Marvel’s promotional campaign is in full swing as they get everyone excited for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which debuts in 2 months. In addition to their upcoming Super Bowl commercial, various photos have hit the web, three new character posters — featuring Chris Evans as Cap, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury — plus five behind-the-scenes photos, including the first look at former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre as Batroc the Leaper, and a new shot of Anthony Mackie as The Falcon.

I won’t get into how airbrushed Scarlett Johansson looks (there’s an article for that here), but I will comment on the little guns she carries. Just because she’s a woman doesn’t mean she should carry pea-shooters. If she’s going to be running around with super soldiers, thunder gods, and giant rage monsters, let’s give her more impressive hardware like her counterpart in Ultimate Avengers. On the bad guy’s side, St-Pierre’s Batroc looks impressive. Seems Marvel is going for a more serious character, forgoing the silly mask and Captain Hook mustache. Either way, the fight scene between him and Cap should be entertaining.
