Michael Keaton Knows Who Batman is

It’s been in the news for awhile now that Christian Bale is a bit sad he’s no longer the Dark Knight and that he felt a pang of jealousy when it was announced Affleck would be donning the cowl.  Variety recently interviewed Michael Keaton and asked him if he was Jealous of Affleck.  Keaton responded with a definitive “No.”  Keaton expounded on this further.  “Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.”  In fact that was Keaton’s second line in the 1989 blockbuster.

I'm batman 1

To prove himself a class act who wouldn’t take too much credit, Keaton continued.  “Tim changed, or started, everything, And I’m proud of the choice I made, in terms of how to play Batman. It’s probably easier now because Tim paved the way, and if I did anything to pave the way, I’m proud of that, too.”

Keaton was my first Batman, and you always remember your first.
