Remember when Michael Bay announced his plans to reboot TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES? Yea… that didn’t end so well.
After a few months of vociferous fan outcry, the Transformers director retreated from a set production date with the script in tow, hoping to make a more palatable offering for the masses.
Well, one particular ooze centric blog claims to have unearthed the original screenplay, and we’ve got our hands on the best bits.
While most of us thought the massive wave of criticism lodged at the film was an overreaction by basement dwelling neckbeards, these new bits of information reveal that sadly, the original plan was actually THAT bad.
Our buddies at TMNTnotTANT just broke an egg of knowledge on our heads, and here’s a quick synopsis from their rundown…
Casey and April are 18 year old, teenage sweethearts, in the midst of a tiff as Ms. O’Neil heads to New York to pursue a career as a reporter. Casey stays behind in Ho-Dunk, USA, where he runs across a group of overgrown, ninjitsu trained turtles, and hijinks ensue.
We’re just surprised this is written by the same people who wrote Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
OH… and Shredder is a cop, and not a bad ass Japanese gang leader.
