MICHAEL BAY Moving on to Video Game Adaptions with GHOST RECON!

Amidst all this E3 video game news, we’ve also gotten video game film news. Isn’t life just grand!

Ubisoft wants to turn their popular tactical shooter series, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, into a film – and they have their eyes on Michael Bay (Transformers, Pain and Gain).

CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures Jean Julien Baronnet claims that the company wants Bay because he is “a master at action movies”. Variety reports that if Bay pens the script, he will also direct, and that casting would begin in the Summer.

Warner Bros. previously announced that they would be distributing Ghost Recon, which would make this film Bay’s first WB project.

Personally, I think Bay is a surprisingly good fit for this. He loves the military, he loves explosions, and voila. That’s all you need for this film, I’d wager!

So: is this good news, or bad news?
