Max Landis Is Back on Board for Chronicle 2

After grossing a little over $100 million in its first month of release, Chronicle has been granted a sequel… well, kinda. There’s still a bit more puddles to jump until this is actually granted the greenlight, but Fox has at least brought Max Landis back to the writing table. This is definitely good news for all of the fans out there, since found footage films like this don’t usually get a second entry, but it’s going to be a lot trickier to pull off this time around.

If you’ve been paying attention to the headlines this week, then you know that Chronicle‘s director Josh Trank has been linked to a slew of new superhero projects, Fantastic Four and a possible Venom.  And as impressive as the script was–even though I’m convinced that Landis stole it from my own comic endeavors–it really wasn’t that spectacular. What really stood out was Trank’s amazing direction… and if Fox can’t book this guy for the sequel, then they’re going to have to shell out some serious bucks to find a suitable replacement.
