Matthew Modine Says The Dark Knight Rises Will Kick Avengers’ Butt

Appearing on VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live yesterday, the actor behind Deputy Police Commissioner Foley Matthew Modine revealed some interesting tidbits about The Dark Knight Rises. Thanks to the latest development in the viral marketing, we already knew that Modine would be playing Foley but it’s nice to get confirmation. Along with that, he also claimed that despite The Avengers breaking records here, there and everywhere and passing $700m worldwide earlier today, he believes that The Dark Knight Rises will kick their butt. This also confirms that the movie will take a lot of ques from the famous Batman story No Man’s Land, which involved Gotham being declared a ‘No Man’s Land’ by the government and cordoning off the city from the public. Gordon led a squad of cops calling themselves ‘The Blue Boys’ and Foley was one of them, until he killed a family in order to kill a criminal, resulting in him leaving the Blue Boys and leading his own team of policemen.

    I’m not sure about box-office, with The Avengers having 3D and whatnot. But I am sure The Dark Knight Rises will be unforgettable. The Avengers left me indifferent. Story was too generic and weak. That’s fine for a movie like that, but it just doesn’t stick.

      Ah, only just noticed it was MTV :( It’s only like a minute long, and all he basically says is that his character is called Foley and that TDKR will kick Avengers butt :P
