Matt Reeves Confirmed To Direct DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

A couple of days ago the shortlist of directors Fox had compiled to replace Rupert Wyatt on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes came online, and was filled with great choices. The most famous ones were Pacific Rim director Guillmero del Toro, Looper helmer Rian Johnson and the top choice, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield). Reeves was previously attached to direct the Twilight Zone remake, but recently dropped out. Want to know why? Because he’s making Dawn of the Planet of the Apes instead.

Wyatt dropped out because he didn’t think he could make the May 2014 release date, but Fox show no intention of pushing the date back and still want to get the movie in front of the cameras in time. I was disappointed that Wyatt left the movie, but I loved Cloverfield and I bet Reeves will do a fantastic job with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
