Ant Man Banner Marvel Sets 2015 Release Date For ANT MAN

Despite being formally announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, with a banner and test reel to go with it, no release date was set by Marvel for Ant-Man. Since director Edgar Wright has been dragging his feet on the project for about ten years, it was just assumed that was the reason. Well, it seems the studio have finally made him get off his ass and start making the damn thing, as it was revealed today via Exhibitor Relations that Ant-Man will be released November 6th 2015, which is AFTER the release of The Avengers 2.

Additionally, the site also revealed that the studio will release Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World in 3D, although that was expected.

As the movie releases after The Avengers 2 (which is more than likely to be the conclusion of Phase II), I guess Ant-Man will kick off Phase III. But will he appear in the next superhero team-up movie? Only time will tell! Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I can’t believe this is an actual comic book character. Back when SNL was truly at its peak – 1975 to 1979 with the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players cast – they did a skit called “Superheroes Party” in which Superman has all his superhero friends over. Bill Murray was Superman, Dan Aykroid was The Flash, John Belushi was The Hulk, all legit superheroes with legit, useful powers. Then Garrett Morris shows up as “Ant Man”, and explains that his power is that he is able to shrink down to the size of an ant while still retaining his normal human strength. This, of course, is an absolutely useless power to have, and thus poor Ant Man is the laughing stock of the party. And now there is actually going to be an Ant Man film? Ridiculous…
