MARVEL Really Wants A Female Superhero Movie

By now you have probably heard that that Marvel could be developing a series based on the character Peggy Carter.

Peggy Carter was the love interest and agent in the Captain America movie. She was not only super bad @$$ but, also, very attractive. If this comes to fruition than we better get ready for an awesome ride. This is something new for the Marvel universe to be looking into, which made me ask the question, “When are we going to have a stand-alone female super hero movie?” We have strong females in the movies; Black Widow, Pepper Potts, and Jane Foster, but we really haven’t had a female superhero take the reigns. Well, after much digging, I found out my question may have gotten answered by Jane Foster herself. In a recent interview, when talking about female superhero movies, Natalie Portman had this to say:

“There are definitely many strong women [in the MCU], but it will be exciting when there is a central female character which I think is coming – I have heard is coming – and, of course, also a central non-white character will also be exciting. Title characters.”

WHAT? I would like to talk to Ms. Portman and ask if she heard or she thinks because I want to know. How cool would it be to have a Ms. Marvel movies? What about a Jean Grey movie (and yes, I’m well aware that the rights to this character belong to Fox)?

Also, the idea of having some diversity with races would be really cool too. I mean Black Panther anyone? I guess we will have to wait and see but this seems like Marvel is moving towards some bad@SS women giving the guys a run for their money.  Captain Marvel, anyone?
