Mark Millar Hints At Sentinels(!) In X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Ever since it was announced that the sequel to X-Men: First Class would be based around the time-travelling Days of Future Past story arc, fans have been speculating about how Fox will use the movie to clear up their entire clusterf*ck of a timeline. It was obvious from the start this film will pull a Star Trek and fix up the continuity – but how they’ll do that is another question. In the comics, Kitty Pryde travels back in time to ask a younger set of X-Men for help in stopping the current dystopian future awaiting them, where mutants are in concentration camps. I have a feeling Fox will pull a funny social commentary on this and have X-Men: The Last Stand be the horrific, dystopian future, therefore wiping all the bad X-movies away.

Anyway, Mark Millar, who is the new Creative Consultant at Fox for their superhero movies, has opened up about the new movie, and seemingly confirms that Sentinels will be a part of it, after their cameo in X-Men: The Last Stand. Read his comments below, including where he likens the movie to The Terminator.

“[Matthew] Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi style thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past….(it’s) X-Men meets The Terminator. You’ve got robots, you’ve got time travel, you’ve got superheroes – it’s got everything in one film. He also said that it is “no spoiler on [his] part” to say that the film goes into an apocalyptic future. Cost-wise it’s going to go up, and ambitious-wise it’s gone up. But Vaughn can handle it. Vaughn made Kick-Ass for $28 million.”

Original stars Patrick Stewart and Famke Janssen have hinted at their comeback in the movie, but it doesn’t seem like anything is concrete. What do you think of X-Men: Days of Future Past so far? Share your thoughts below.
